How the Library Alert Service works:
Library systems (or school libraries) register each branch or school to receive electronic Library Alerts.
Teachers select participating school and public libraries to be notified of research assignments.
Local librarians receive a copy of the teacher's research assignment via email.
Librarians are prepared for the students by knowing about the topic, requirements and due date in advance.
